About the Role

​

As part of EXTREME Destinations development division, you will play a leading strategic and managerial role in driving specific projects forwards from the initial concept stage through design and planning and across the construction and operations. You will be responsible for the collaborative destination planning and development with partner developers, local and national governments, suppliers, and contractors.

​

The core purpose of the Project Development Manager for Adventure & Extreme Sports is to be the key outward facing representative of EXTREME Destinations, securing, and overseeing development and growth of projects associated with indoor and outdoor adventure & extreme sports destinations. Your overall goal will be working towards making extreme sports more accessible to everyone and aim to get the local and visiting population living a healthier, fulfilling lifestyle.

Reporting to the Managing Director of EXTREME Destinations, you will be responsible for managing developments through the various project stages, on a worldwide basis, and supporting the evaluation of project opportunities.

​

Job Type: Short Term Contract (could lead to long term engagement.)

Location: Europe or Middle East (remote based with occasional travel.)

​

Responsibilities

​

  • Developing and implementing strategies coherent with overall business objectives, capabilities, and brand guidelines.

  • Ensuring qualitative development processes and outcomes.

  • Presenting to and negotiating with senior personnel (CEO's/Board Level).

  • Liaising with designers, engineers, architects, business planning team and consultants.

  • Managing resources, budgets, communication, and creative assets.

  • Collaborating closely with various departments and associates.

  • Writing detailed proposals.

  • Reviewing and analysing project documents, studies, and feasibility plans.

  • Negotiating, managing, and monitoring contracts.

  • Evaluating contractor performance and approving or terminating contracts.

  • Working with, consulting, and providing direction/advice to senior management team and other internal stakeholders.

  • Developing and managing the implementation of the destination with government, regional, community and industry stakeholders.

  • Representing EXTREME at meetings and events as appropriate.

Required Experience​

​

  • Minimum 8 years' experience in development and/or operations of active sport, leisure and entertainment destinations, facilities, resorts, or parks.

  • Education in business, tourism or related field or equivalent combination of education/experience.

  • Demonstrate experience in developing and managing programs and project budgets and organisational resources to deliver on goals.

  • Demonstrate ability to effectively manage multiple, simultaneous complex issues while still delivering results.

  • Passion, participation, interest and knowledge of action and adventure sports.

  • Confidence at presenting to senior personnel (CEOs, board level);

  • Pro-active business development skill set, selling to and presenting to potential partners, writing detailed proposals based on the project and partners requirements.

  • Ability to project manage and liaise with designers, engineers, architects, business planning team and consultants.
