“EXTREME MARINE”, THE NEW-SCHOOL MARINE SERVICE LAUNCHES

EXTREME International and Onyx Marine are excited to announce the launch of EXTREME Marine, a game-changing new marine business set to deliver sustainable bespoke on and off water services and support to marine based destinations, events, yachts, and tourist activations.

Over the past sixteen months, global lockdowns have driven widespread desire to get back outdoors and return to nature. There has subsequently been an unprecedented rise in engagement with adventure sports and water sports. Boat and equipment sales have skyrocketed and the ability to escape to the shores has proven vital, as both the mental and physical benefits of being on the water have become increasingly evident.

With the wide range of services that we have to offer, marine experiences will become more accessible than ever. Many aspects of on-water activity having traditionally been limited to experienced water enthusiasts; however, EXTREME Marine is set to facilitate the increasing engagement of this new generation of water-sports enthusiasts.

EXTREME Marine will bring luxury yachting and incredible on-water support to events and tourist activations, catering for both owners and consumers. EXTREME Marine has the capacity to offer all-encompassing marine event services, including the curation of some of the world’s finest equipment, provisioning of health and safety support, onboard crews, and logistical strategies. From luxury yachts to efoils and high-speed RIBs, customers will have access to the latest in marine engineering and the world’s most recognised and reputable marine brands.

Alistair Gosling, EXTREME CEO and Founder, comments that “this new offer has been years in the making. The level of expertise and critical thinking that has fed into the development and strategic planning of this venture is second to none and will be reflected in its execution. We are offering a service that is holistic in nature, but the core theme will be professional specialisation in every facet of what we do, from the events, onboard crew to the health and safety officers, EXTREME Marine is a one-stop shop for all professional marine services. We are extremely fortunate to be operating alongside Onyx, their professionalism and knowledge is invaluable and will help drive EXTREME Marine to the centre of attention.”

With global ambitions, this venture will be launching in parallel into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and United Kingdom initially. KSA is undergoing a monumental transformation. As part of the 2030 vision, a series of Giga projects are underway along the Red Sea coastline, with the aim of becoming one of the world’s most alluring tourist destinations, attracting Saudi and international tourists to its shores through a considered approach to marine activity.

The Kingdom has over 1,800km of untouched coastline, with thousands of pristine and remote islands and a growing coastal infrastructure. With plans underway to launch events and experiences and to activate tourist destinations along the coastline, there is a growing need for significant marine support and with no large-scale boat charter or marine services provider in the country to support these ambitions the timing of this launch could not be better!

Through partnership with Onyx Marine, EXTREME Marine will bring together a network of marine instructors, crew, and consultants who are among the best in the world, so if it touches the water, EXTREME Marine can deliver and support. Established in the early 1980s, Onyx has created some of the world’s most exciting and inspiring marine events. Having partnered with several FTSE1000 companies, they have developed deep experience and knowledge, breathing life to concepts and delivering thrilling activations, with their mission being to bring the benefits of being in and around water to the masses in a safe and enjoyable manner.

Bligh Julius, Managing Director Onyx Events said “the surface of our planet is 71% water which produces over 50% of Earth’s oxygen. We are all deeply connected by it in so many different ways – as a company we want to ensure people can enjoy it safely, engage with it, and learn how to operate on it. With over 40 years of combined voluntary service in the UK’s Royal National Lifeboat Institution, we see the need to provide specialist marine expertise within the public and private sectors, working with anyone that wants to understand how to maximise their time on the water. From private yacht weeks to international regattas and world-first expedition vessels, EXTREME Marine’s network of marine specialists is second to none.”

EXTREME Marine’s first outing will take place at the Southampton Boat Show from 10th - 19th September 2021 where EXTREME Marine have joined forces with Fliteboard as their UK representatives. Fliteboard is an Australian based company and purveyors of the world most advanced electric hydrofoil boards. The EXTREME Marine area of the Boat Show will give attendees the opportunity to buy as well as watch live demonstrations of the hydrofoils by professional athletes such as free rider Tom Court and Nazare safety lead and big wave rider Glyn Ovens.

EXTREME Marine are now looking for partners and auxiliary marine service providers to join us on this venture and assimilate into our network of marine supply groups.

Now is the time to get involved as EXTREME Marine are looking to see how we can help your company, destination or event reach new heights and audiences by leveraging the finest services in the industry. Partners will receive first-class client servicing and a personal experience; no two clients are ever the same and that is reflected in the services we offer.
