EXTREME International and Guizhou Tourism Investment Holding Group (GTI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), appointing EXTREME as the consulting partner for the design, development, operation and marketing of extreme and adventure sports, destinations, hospitality and experiences within the Guizhou province of China.
The partnership was sealed during an official signing ceremony at the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) 2023 held in Beijing from the 02nd to the 06th September.
Represented by EXTREME’s Managing Director Destinations, Ben Barker, and GTI’s Deputy General Manager, Xiangyun Xiao, the signing ceremony was attended by government officials from the Guizhou province, representatives from both companies as well as the Chinese media.
With over 25 years experience in the global extreme and adventure sports industry, EXTREME will support the Chinese government and provincial authority’s agenda to drive an active, healthy lifestyle, sport participation, positive mental health, job creation, infrastructure investment, tourism as well as support the local communities through adventure sports in the destination.
The MoU outlines a number of areas where EXTREME will work with GTI including in the development of extreme and adventure sports destinations and the design, development and operation of an array of extreme and adventure sports hospitality offerings and experiences across the province.
