Engineer-Turned-Adventurer Rides Electric Skateboard Across America
August Monarch Sets Out on a 3,500+ Mile Journey from LA to Boston—Because Why Not?
Los Angeles, CA — Starting June 6, Andres Solanot (aka August Monarch), a former engineer and tech company leader with a flair for chaos and a love for speed, is hopping on his electric skateboard and pointing it east—way east. His goal? Skate from Los Angeles to Boston (or maybe Virginia Beach, if the road feels right). That’s over 3,500 miles of rubber-burning, battery-swapping, soul-searching madness—with a camera crew in tow and zero corporate logos cluttering the vibe.
There are no sponsors. No product drops. Just one guy, a bunch of boards, and his Doberman sidekick, Blue, carving through America with style, grit, and a serious need for sunscreen.
“This isn’t a campaign,” Solanot says. “It’s not about followers, or fame, or selling anything. It’s about doing something borderline ridiculous just to see if I can. It’s about finding presence—and maybe a few blisters.”
Covering 150–200 miles per day—distances never before documented on an electric skateboard, let alone for twenty days straight—Solanot pushes east with a rotating fleet of Bioboard Plutonium 2S and Acedeck Horizon boards. A support van carries fast-charge rigs, camera crew, supplies, and spare batteries.
Oh—and Blue. Don’t forget Blue. She’s the zen master of the operation, reminding everyone to stay focused, stay alert, and maybe sniff a tree or two along the way.
A full-length documentary is in the works, but the wild ride will be shared daily across social media, where you can watch every mile, meltdown, and moment of roadside magic unfold in real time.
