About the role
Wavelength is seeking a high-calibre General Manager to lead the management and development of our events division starting with the roll out of our Creator Nation Summit. This is a new international creator and social media focused conference series that already has significant interest from multiple destinations around the world and is designed to position each host destination as global leaders in social media, creative industries and the creator economy. https://www.wavelength.now/events
The chosen candidate will be responsible for building and delivering the masterplan, operational frameworks required to secure host nations and execute the creator-led summits. You will lead on event delivery and revenue and act as the primary bridge between Wavelength and national governments and tourism boards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Development & Master planning

Lead the Development Phase to create comprehensive event masterplans and detailed budgets that match the standards of national tourism boards and ministries.

Develop technical and operational blueprints for these multi-day, multi-stage international conferences.

Design the commercial and sponsorship architecture to attract major brand partners, airlines, telcos, and social platforms.
2. Destination & Government Relations

Create opportunities and Partner with National Tourism Boards, Ministries of Culture/tourism and Investment promotion authorities to ensure alignment with national tourism objectives.

Create "Destination Integration Strategies" that allow creators to produce high-value content across priority regions and themes.

Manage high-level stakeholder impact, ensuring the Summit serves as a politically defendable project tied to tourism and innovation strategy.
3. Event Execution & Talent Management

Oversee the end-to-end delivery of the Summit.

Collaborate on the talent and speaker strategy, bringing together leading global creators, social platforms and senior industry figures.

Ensure the production of high-value content outputs, including 50 hero films and 1,000+ short-form assets per event.
4. Legacy & Capacity Building

Facilitate the creation of a national "Creator Hub" to secure the long-term legacy of the Summit.

Integrate masterclasses and skills development sessions for local youth into the event structure to support domestic creative-industry growth.
Required Experience & Qualifications

Large-Scale Event Planning: Proven track record of planning and executing multi-day international conferences or summits with 1500 to 10,000+ attendees.

Government & Tourism Expertise: Experience working with national ministries, tourism boards, or multilateral organizations is a plus.

Commercial Acumen: Strong background in securing, negotiating and delivering sponsorships and commercial partnerships with major brands for international events.

Digital & Creator Economy Literacy: A sophisticated understanding of the creator economy, digital media, and social platforms (TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, etc.).

Project Management: Ability to manage the complex event development phase including PR, comms, logistics, and tourism amplification modelling.
