Extreme Sports Channel strikes factual and sports entertainment acquisition deal with IMG Media

Extreme Sports Channel has acquired a raft of sports, action and adventure series from IMG Media for broadcast across its international feeds.

The titles include Dr Danger and Pro Bull Riding, two high octane shows that tread the fine line between adventure and danger. Dr Danger will roll out later this year to all of Extreme Sports Channel's 25.8 million subscribers across the EMEA region and Pro Bull Riding will broadcast on the channel's dedicated UK, French and Polish feeds.

These exciting new acquistions are a significant step in Extreme Sports Channel's strategy to add high action, primetime factual entertainment shows to its schedule of the world's best action sports content.

Dr Danger features award-winning television correspondent, international traveller and sportsman, Doctor Bob Arnet, participating in dangerous adventures around the world. From jumping on the back of a truck filled with Somali mercenaries to plunging 50 metres into the shark-infested Sudanese Red Sea to roam the deck of a sunken World War II warship, Dr Bob certainly isn't afraid to look death in the face.

Pro Bull Riding is one of the most exciting sports entertainment events in the world. The event involves a 150 pound cowboy being challenged to stay on a 2000lb bucking bull for eight seconds, with one hand strapped to the bull's back. Extreme Sports Channel will be the first to air the event in the UK, France and Poland.

Other programmes acquired as part of the deal with IMG Media are Fight Girls and Bad Boy Racers which will both roll out across EMEA, along with Storm Chase for the UK and France and Girls Don't Fight for France.
