GLOBE WORLD CUP SKATEBOARDING CONTEST TO AIR ON FOX SPORTS NET


- Australian Competition Leads Off Launch of EX TV Series March 18 -

LOS ANGELES, March 15, 2002 - Globe World Cup Skateboarding will lead off the launch of EX TV, an hour-long action sports series, March 18 at 4 p.m. (PST/EST) on Fox Sports Net. Globe World Cup Skateboarding showcases the world's best skaters in the opener of the 2002 World Cup circuit, and features an onslaught of skaters, including Chet Thomas, Eric Koston, Rune Glifberg, Ryan Sheckler, Renton Millar, Bucky Lasek, Rick McCrank and Bob Burnquist. Over 100 pros take over Melbourne, Australia's Rod Laver Arena for a piece of the $56,000 prize purse and one of three new Ford vehicles up for grabs.

"We're excited to be involved with EX TV on Fox Sports Net," said Kevin Flanagan, Vice President of Marketing for Globe. "And, it doesn't get much better than leading off the launch with the world's best skateboarding."

Globe team skater Chad Fernandez hosts the show with commentary from skate industry guru and former pro rider Dave Duncan. Included in the broadcast will be vert heats, highlights and finals; street heats, highlights and finals; the Gallaz Girls Skate Jam final featuring Amy Caron and Vanessa Torres dropping hammers on the 12-step rail; interviews with vert winner Bucky Lasek and street winner Rick McCrank and an awards ceremony to remember - replete with Bucky burning out in his new Ford F-Series truck to fill the arena with smoke and Amy Caron crashing her new Ford KA.

EX TV launches March 18 at 4 p.m. on Fox Sports Net's regional sports channels that reach more than 78 million US homes. The series will showcase the action sports lifestyle - featuring top athletes, events, bands and more - and will air each Monday and Wednesday at 4 p.m. as part of FSN's "Rush Hour," the network's weekday action sports programming block.
