EXTREME Secures NextUp for Netgem TV Customers

EXTREME collaborated with Netgem TV to add NextUp Live Comedy to its bouquet of more than 125 FAST channels.

Customers can now discover real stand-up comedy and watch rising stars alongside famous comedians perform at the UK's best comedy venues and festivals.

Mark Dodd, Managing Director Media Network for EXTREME shared, “Since the launch of our Channel management division earlier this year we have seen increasing interest from content owners wanting to enter the rapidly expanding FAST channel universe and the collaboration with NextUp Comedy and Netgem TV adds a new dimension to our existing line up of Unreel and Auto Allstars channels with more entertainment that we can provide to our 20 million fans and viewers worldwide. NextUp Live Comedy is one of the most exciting producers of Live programming we have encountered and thanks to this collaboration with Netgem TV we can now reach more UK homes with the best live comedy has to offer, all at no cost starting this August with many live shows from the Edinburgh Fringe.”

Founded in 2016 by 3 comedy fans and friends, NextUp is paving the way as the comedy-on-demand streaming platform that has recorded, livestreamed and distributed hundreds of shows featuring some of the biggest names in LIVE comedy alongside upcoming talent.

Partnering with EXTREME to bring our live comedy content to new audiences enables huge growth, not only for the channel but the acts, agents and venue partners who we work with,” says Sarah Henley, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of NextUp. “These partnerships alongside the Innovate Grant will allow us to increase accessibility, reach new fans and of course share more laughter.”

Netgem TV, the award-winning TV service designed for Internet Service Providers (ISP) distribution, has expanded its offerings by introducing a lineup of over 125 high-quality additional FAST channels. This move further solidifies its market position as a superior value alternative to traditional Pay TV through its 15+ and growing number of ISPs including Talk Talk and Community Fibre.

“This latest addition to the Netgem TV lineup comes at an ideal time for the start of the 2023 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. With a focus on quality and content genres that compliments the Freeview line-up, Netgem creates value and differentiation for our ISP distribution partners without increasing the price tag for the viewers - a much needed benefit in this time of wallet crunch” said Mathieu Ghariani, Director of Commercial Operations for Netgem UK.

Netgem TV customers can tune in to channel 904 to enjoy endless comedy including livestreams from the Edinburgh Fringe Comedy Festival 2023 as of Friday the 04th August.
