Assistant Manager - Extreme Destinations

As part of EXTREME's Destinations division, you will will be responsible for supporting the Managing Director and Development Managers in managing developments through the various project stages, on a worldwide basis and supporting in the evaluation of project opportunities.


Reporting to the Managing Director of EXTREME Destinations, your responsibilities will include:



  • Assist with the development of strategies and development opportunities in conjunction with the Managing Director of Extreme Destinations;


  • Prepare regular progress reports to be presented to Extreme monthly;


  • Assist the Extreme team with wider project development, facilitation and execution etc;


  • Develop and/or contribute to succinct, timely, informative and accurate briefings, papers and corporate reporting requirement;


  • Analyse market data, trends and insights and make recommendations on the future direction of strategic partnerships, activities and opportunities;


  • Determine the priority of tasks and schedules within the general framework and timeframe determined by the Managing Director of Extreme Destinations;


  • Be proactive in suggesting areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions;

  • Implement strategies that will create awareness regarding Extreme Destinations business to assist with product development;

  • Assist in identifying and analyzing project management staffing needs and team assignments;

  • Work with other team members to develop sustainable and meaningful process improvement;

  • Reviewing and analysing project documents, studies and feasibility plans;

  • Working with, consulting and providing direction/advice to senior management team and other internal stakeholders.


  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in development and/or operations of active leisure and entertainment destinations, facilities, resorts or parks;

  • Demonstrated administrative and budget management expertise;

  • Planning, organisational and analytical skills for business planning, strategy development and preparing business cases of a commercial calibre.

  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills and experience in addressing conferences, workshops, committees and industry groups;

  • Demonstrated proactive approach to establishing and maintaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Demonstrate ability to effectively manage multiple, simultaneous complex issues while still delivering results;

  • Passion, participation, interest and knowledge of action and adventure sports;

  • Confidence at presenting to senior personnel (CEO’s, board level);

  • Pro-active business development skill set, selling to and presenting to potential partners, writing detailed proposals based on the project and partners requirements;


  • Have excellent interpersonal skills;

  • Have a strong commitment, responsibility and reliability towards the project, team and company;

  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal);

  • Result driven;

  • Vision setting;

  • Be a positive and energetic team player – be someone we would want to go on a road trip with across Europe; hang out at a mountain bike park with; and spend a day surfing with!
