EXTREME ENTERTAINMENT CONFIRMS GLOBAL BROADCAST COVERAGE FOR THE 2004 LG ACTION SPORTS CHAMPIONSHIPS Extreme Entertainment, the UK based programme producer and distributor, has completed the distribution of the second annual LG Action Sports Championships (LG ASC) with coverage of the full 8 part event series confirmed in over 150 territories and into over 250 million homes, providing extensive worldwide exposure for the event and for the title sponsor, LG Electronics. The 2004 LG ASC, which was held in Pomona, California during the Los Angeles County Fair (September 17th-19th), was hugely successful with the top professional athletes in the sports of skateboarding, bmx, in-line skating and freestyle motocross entertaining crowds in excess of 150,000. The event, which included a variety of highlight moments from the best field of talent assembled in 2004, culminated with Sandro Dias successfully landing the first ever 900 degree aerial spin during a skateboard competition run. As well as intense action from the biggest names in action sports, the LG ASC featured live performances from acclaimed bands such as Maroon 5, LIVE and Lone Star. 8 x 52 minute programmes were produced by event organiser and production company ASA Events, which have been distributed internationally by Extreme into the following markets worldwide: Pan Europe, Pan Asia, China, Korea, Japan, Australia, South Africa, Canada, Pan Latin America and Brazil. Domestic US coverage was with Fox Sports Net. Ben Barrett, Managing Director of Extreme Entertainment said: "It's great to be involved in such an exciting new international event. In 2003 the LG ASC landed on the map, but in 2004 this event has really taken major strides with the some of the best action and biggest prize purses these sports have ever seen, which is no surprise considering the quality of the athletes who participated in the event. We look forward to working with ASA and LG to continue to grow this event on television in the coming years". "It is incredible to watch the impact this event has made in the action sports community in just two years", said Rick Bratman, president of ASA Events. "Not only did it have the best field of athletes and the largest per sport prize money of any event, but the vibe from the pros and the fans was second-to-none. The LGASC was a great springboard for the global LG Action Sports brand, which will include a dozen major international contests, an amateur series and a new pro team in 2005." About
